Fukushima taught us there are still many things we need to learn to manage a nuclear disaster. It taught us despite our best efforts, extreme events are still possible and we need to be ready to cope when they do. In addition it exposed weaknesses in current planning related to long term reentry and clean up concerns.
Overall we need to take everything we have learned from Fukushima Daiichi and not allow the same things to happen again. We should update the zones of expected contamination area and decrease response times where possible. Additionally there are still effects of Fukushima Daiichi that wont be known for years to come. That is why we can not allow something to happen like this again. And if despite our best efforts it does happen again we need to make sure we have complete plans put forth to help the people and the environment.
